An attractive large perennial grass with narrow green foliage with a deep purple central vein. Thick, tall stems of purple-red rich in sucrose. Beautiful silvery white flowerheads. Native to New guinea but now cultivated throughout tropical and subtropical countries all over the world.

Max Height 2.5m. Max Spread 1m.

Flowers June to August.

Full sun/partial shade and Shaded site.

Protect from frost.
