A tropical banana discovered in the late 1950’s, Native to Tropical Asia. Green to yellow green narrow trunks grow about 8-10 feet (3m) if grown as a specimen plant outdoors. Long, slender green leaves are graced by intense yellow – brown flower bracts followed by seeded fruit. Ochracea, is a Latin word meaning “ochracaceous” (ochre-colored) which indicates the flowers colour.

Full sun to part shade.
Rich soil.
Tender. Protect in winter.
Germination Tips:
Soak in a mild acid (orange juice) for 24 hrs.
Rinse and soak for 24 hrs in warm water.
Place inside a plastic bag/container with compost.
Grow in a heated propagator with 16 hrs of heat (25C+) followed by 8 hrs of cooler temps (approx 15C).
