Musa acuminata ssp. acuminata

Dwarf  Banana

A species of banana native to Southeast Asia. Most of the modern edible dessert bananas belong to this species. It is one of the most commonly planted banana varieties and the main source of commercial bananas. Excellent for a bright room or conservatory.

Max Height 6m. Max Spread 5m.

Flowers July.

Fruits October.

Tender.

Germination Tips:

Soak in a mild acid (orange juice) for 24 hrs.
Rinse and soak for 24 hrs in warm water.
Place inside a plastic bag/container with compost.
Grow in a heated propagator with 16 hrs of heat (25C+) followed by 8 hrs of cooler temps (approx. 15C).
