Leonotis nepetifolia is an unusual plant native to tropical Africa and southern India. It grows to a height of 3m in a single year. Whorls of striking lipped flowers, that are most commonly orange, but can vary to red, white, and purple. It has very soft serrated leaves that can grow up to 4 inches wide.

Full sun.
Not hardy. Used as a tropical bedding plant.

Sown in spring onto a good seed compost and lightly cover.
Place into a propagator and keep moist.
Prick out when large enough to handle.
