Popular in Victorian times as a houseplant but also useful in the garden in a shady spot, has glossy dark green foliage, bell-shaped flowers. Native to Japan and Taiwan. Looks great in a tropical garden and I’ve found it fairly hardy.
Max Height 60cm. Max Spread 60cm.
Flowers March to April.
Shaded site.
Frost hardy.
(Some have sun marked leaves but lots of new shoots)
