Description
Arisaema speciosa
Double Whipcord Cobra Lily
Tuberous perennial originating from the Himalayan region. Large, green tri-lobed leaves emerge in early spring followed by dark purple spathes striped with white. The tip of the spathe hood is elongated and often droops down and together with the long attenuated spadix which can reach up to 15cm long.
Max Height 50cm. Max Spread 60cm.
Partial shade. Moist but well drained soil.
Frost Hardy.
Harmful if eaten/skin and eye irritant.
Germination tips:
*Stratify for 8 weeks
*Keep moist but not too wet
*Needs at least 20 degrees to germinate
