Queen of Air Plants
An unusual tropical bromeliad from southern Mexico, that gets all its requirements through its wide silver foliage. Naturally grows as an epiphyte in dry forests. It produces a brightly coloured flower spike, made of red-purple flowers emerging from green bracts which are a great source of nectar.
Max Height 40cm. Max Spread 90cm.
Flowers April to September.
Bright room away from direct sunlight.
Drought tolerant, mist 2-3 times a week or soak once a week but let it drain from the centre to avoid rot.
Ideal temp. 50-80 °F (10-26°C)
