An exotic looking bromeliad with arching grey green leaves with fine recurved spines running down each side of the leaf. A red flower stem covered in purple flowers with reddish ink bracts, will erupt from the centre which is attractive to butterflies and bees. Native to Chile.
Max Height 1.5m. Spread 60cm. Full sun.
Well drained soil.
Drought tolerant.
Frost hardy.
