A broadly columnar, deciduous tree native to China with hairy bright green leaves and pretty pinkish lilac flowers in large panicles. It can be grown as a tree in milder areas of the U.K. but mostly used as a perennial plant and cut back each year. Produces huge leaves once cut back. Can reach 3m in a single season.
Max Height 10m. Max Spread 8m.
Flowers May to June.
Full sun.
