Tropical Pitcher Plant
A tropical carnivorous plant which obtains its nutrients by drowning insects in its modified leaves called pitchers. Sangunieus is latin for ‘Blood Red’. Grows as a vine or creeper in its native tropical environment, the pitchers secrete a sweet nectar which entices the prey into the trap where it falls into the digestive liquid and feeds the plant.
Native to Malaysia and thailand.
Partial shade.
Moist acidic soil.
Min temp 60°F / 15°C.
Water with rain water and mist regularly in summer.
