Description
MUSA ‘Bordelon’
First discovered in the Louisiana town of Bordelonville, this cultivar slightly resembles Musa Zebrina, the Blood Banana. A beautiful banana with large foliage, has maroon splotches on the upper surface and even more maroon on the underside. Readily produces flowers and makes seeded, inedible fruit.
Max Height 4m. Max Spread 1.5m.
Flowers July. Fruits October.
Full sun/partial shade.
Hardiness: Tender although supposedly the hardiest red striped banana.
