Dense, upright evergreen shrub native to woodlands and cool temperate rainforest of south-eastern Australia, with deep red stems and leathery, glossy, dark green leaves. Clusters of yellow flowers. The leaf and berry are used as a spice, typically dried.
Max Height 1.5m. Max Spread 2.5m.
Flowers March to April.
Full sun/partial shade. Prefers acidic soil.
Hardy.
