A tropical looking plant grown for it’s edible tuber. It’s large heart-shaped or elephant ear shaped leaves make it a distinctive plant for any garden. It is native to the swampy areas in tropical south-eastern Asia and has been cultivated for over 6000 years. ‘Bun Long’ is considered the best variety for making Taro chips.
Max height 1.2m.
Full sun, partial shade.
Requires moist soil, can be used in bog gardens, pond edges.
Feed well to get maximum growth.
