Mountain Papaya
A tropical fruit plant from South America, typically growing at altitudes of 1,500 – 3,000 metres. This fast growing perennial resembles a tree with large palmate leaves at the crown and can reach 6-9m in height. It can produce up to 50 bright yellow fruits per season. Fruit flavour is tart, and sugar is often sprinkled on the fruit before eating.
