Strawberry tree
A shrubby evergreen tree native to the Mediterranean region and western Europe north to western France and Ireland with interesting red shedding bark. Small white pink tinged flowers with red strawberry like fruits in autumn. The fruit can be used to make a strong spirit, a traditional fruit brandy from Portugal called Aguardente de Medronhos.
Max Height 8m. Max Spread 8m.
Flowers August to September. Fruits August to October.
Full Sun.
