Description
Anthurium veitchii
The King Anthurium
A truly fascinating tropical epiphytic plant from Columbia. They can produce huge long leaves up to 2m, with deep curved veins that look like ripples in the dark green metallic foliage. The new leaves emerge bronze colour but soon darken to green. A very rare plant especially in the U.K. I have one happily growing in my office here at Turn it Tropical (Main Photo). It was named after John Veitch, the owner of a famous nursery in London. They seem to grow best when neglected.
