OPUNTIA vulgaris
Prickly Pear
A cactus found in Mexico used as domesticated crop. Blue-green pads up to 15cm in diameter, in clumps to as much as 90cm wide. In late summer bright yellow flowers are produced followed by edible fruits.
Max Height 3m. Max Spread 3m.
Full Sun. Very well drained soil.
Frost hardy.
